24 going on 60

I know I'm a horrible blogger. I am a busy person but I mostly blame the fact that I hate to write. I've been meaning to on multiple occasions but unsuccessfully. So for those hard core readers who still check my mostly dead blog here is an update.

November was consumed with preparations for our school Thanksgiving program. The students did well but they did about 50% better down stairs 10 minutes before. They were so animated and up stairs in front of about 200 people they became stones. I can't really blame them though. December held the Sunday School Christmas Program. Only a few glitches but it came off just fine. The children seemed to have fun and I am deep in debt to Hans, Adam, Nate, Spencer, and Jonathan.

We had wonderful visits with family over Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am working on a few trips to CA, Yakima, and Moscow this spring to spend some quality time with friends and family.

Now you are all probably wondering what finally made me start writing again. Well, Hans is in class until about 8:30, so I'm by myself and sick. At the prospect of 3 days at home alone I thought I needed to do something! This will be my first sick day from school. :(

Hilary's Illness:
It should be noted that my class is amazingly all healthy, my staff at work are all healthy, friends = healthy, Husband = healthy. No idea where it came from.

So my staff at work are always telling me that I'm not that old. I'm 3-8 years older than all of them. Most of them fall into the 8 year category. So embracing that thought, we had a party Tuesday night to say farewell to some friends who are moving across the country. It should be noted that I don't think any of the 8 people present had to work before 9am the next day, if they had work at all. So by 1:00am the door was finally closing on the last guest. I'm young I tell myself as I fall into bed and set the alarm for 6:15 am. I'll be fine.

This morning held a pretty bad cold, congestion, sore throat, the works. *It should be noted that Monday I accidentally got hit in the face and heard the loudest crack. I'm pretty sure I chipped some bone in my nose so congestion and wiping is no fun. That coupled with the lack of sleep and a pinched nerve in my shoulder made for a mellow day at school. Thankfully my class was on board. (It should be noted that we did all our work, I just only ever barely talked above a whisper and we didn't do anything wild and crazy.) I got home only to develop body aches and then a fever. After sneaking up to school for an hour to get stuff ready for a sub I am now home alone, slightly depressed at the prospect of 2 days alone at home and Hans doing homework all Saturday. See it does take extreme measures to get me to start blogging!

That all sounds really pathetic. I'm not that bad, I've been much worse. As I sit at home I can post updated pictures of the house, book some flights to California, catch up on some reading, etc.

Oh Hil, you are so pathetic! I'm sorry that you are not feeling well! :-( I'll miss you tomorrow at school. I'm sure you'll find plenty of things to do on your day off--all those things that you just need a sick day to actually do! Praying that you feel better quickly! <3 Kissa
