Teaching Full Time!

So this is my first week teaching everything all day. I have 5 weeks of teaching and then I Graduate! Not that I don't love my students I'm just excited to be graduating.

I got invited to go on the 4th grade field trip to the capitol in a few weeks mostly because no parents volunteered and I have First Aid and CPR certs. But it should be a fun day.

I need to frantically plan in the next few days though to be able to keep up with all the lessons I am teaching.

Tomorrow we are digging through owl pellets to find bones of animals that they ate and then put the bones together into a skeleton. I am so dreading it! How nasty does that sound? But my mentor teacher assures me that it isn't that bad and she really likes it, however the other third grade teacher said she always almost throws up. We'll see....

Yay! No class tomorrow they gave us a day off for working on our homework!

I have a question - do you lick your finger before passing out papers to your students?

No, there is no lickage going on. When you spend all day in a classroom with my class you tend to want to go home and disinfect everything you had at school with you.

I'm glad to hear it. I think I always quietly resented those teachers who licked their fingers before touching MY paper. :)

The owl pellet thing is a blast!! I don't think that it is droppings I actualy think it is spit up. Another fun thing in fourth grade science is disection of a squid. It is a blast!! No I don't lick my fingers but during summer camp (the year I taught it) we cooked them up and ate them! It was yummy!
